Diller Scofidio + Renfro is a New York design studio that works across architecture, the visual arts and the performing arts. It was founded in 1981 by the architects Elizabeth Diller and Ricardo Scofidio; Charles Renfro joined in 1997 and became a partner in 2004, and Benjamin Gilmartin became the fourth partner in 2015. In 1999 it was the first architecture firm to receive a MacArthur Fellowship, the foundation saying it had "created an alternative form of architectural practice that unites design, performance, and electronic media with cultural and architectural theory and criticism".
