Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 October 2026 (added the FGA Studio waitlist)

Find Great Architecture (findgreatarchitecture.com) is a free, independent project run by Akshat Pagaria (“I”, “me”). This policy covers the website and the official Find Great Architecture accounts on Instagram and YouTube.

The short version

When you visit the website

Visitor counting. GoatCounter records which pages are opened, the page you arrived from (including tags such as ?ref=instagram), your browser, device type and screen size, and your approximate country, worked out from your IP address. It does not store your IP address and sets no cookies. I use the totals to see which buildings people find useful. GoatCounter’s privacy policy: https://www.goatcounter.com/help/privacy

Hosting. The website is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any web host, GitHub receives your IP address in order to deliver the pages and may keep it in its logs for security. GitHub’s Privacy Statement: https://docs.github.com/site-policy/privacy-policies/github-general-privacy-statement

Fonts. The website’s typefaces load from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google’s servers and Google receives your IP address. Google says it uses this only to deliver the fonts: https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq/privacy

Your own browser. The building quiz and a few display preferences (such as your daily progress and streak) are saved in your browser’s local storage. They stay on your device, are never sent to me, and are deleted when you clear this site’s data.

Links. Building pages link to plans, articles, archives and bookshops on other websites. Once you follow a link, that website’s own privacy policy applies.

The FGA Studio waitlist

FGA Studio (findgreatarchitecture.com/studio/) is a tool I am building. If you join its waitlist, I keep your email address, whether you are a student, a teacher or an architect, and, if you answer them, what you are presenting next and when your next jury is. I also keep where you came from (a tag such as ?ref=ig) and the page you signed up on.

Instagram and YouTube

I publish the project’s own posts to @findgreatarchitecture on Instagram and YouTube using Meta’s Instagram API and the YouTube API Services. These connections act only on my own accounts. They publish my posts, read statistics about my own posts (such as views, reach, likes, saves and shares), and read comments and messages that people send to my accounts, so that I can reply.

Data deletion

If you would like a comment or message you sent to my Instagram or YouTube accounts removed from my records, email me with your username and where you posted it. I will delete it within 30 days and confirm by email. Deleting it on Instagram or YouTube yourself also removes it from my records at the next update. Waitlist details are deleted the same way (see above). Apart from the waitlist, the website holds no personal data about you to delete.

Children

This project is made for architecture students and anyone interested in buildings. It is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect information from them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under the EU and UK GDPR and California’s privacy laws, you can ask what information I hold about you, and ask me to correct or delete it or to stop using it. The website keeps no personal profiles, so in practice this applies to your waitlist details and to comments or messages you have sent to my social accounts. Email me and I will answer within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Where data is processed

The services this project relies on (GitHub, GoatCounter, Google, Meta) may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes too, and material changes are noted on this page.
