O'Donnell + Tuomey is an Irish architecture practice founded in Dublin in 1988 by the married partners Sheila O'Donnell (born 1953) and John Tuomey (born 1954). Both graduated from University College Dublin in 1976 and then worked in London for James Stirling, O'Donnell on the Clore Gallery at the Tate and Tuomey on the Neue Staatsgalerie in Stuttgart. Back in Dublin they joined Group 91 Architects, which won the competition to regenerate the city's Temple Bar district. Their practice has twice won the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland's Gold Medal, represented Ireland at the Venice Biennale in 2004 and 2008, and is noted, in the words of the Architectural League of New York, "for their expressive form-making".
