Heatherwick Studio is a London design practice founded in 1994 by the English designer Thomas Heatherwick (born 1970), after he graduated from the Royal College of Art. The studio's work runs from objects to buildings: the UK pavilion at Expo 2010 in Shanghai, nicknamed the "Seed Cathedral", the cauldron for the 2012 Olympics in London, the New Routemaster bus, Vessel in New York and the Little Island pier on the Hudson.

Zeitz MOCAA in Cape Town (2017) turns a 57-metre grain silo of 1921–24 into a museum of contemporary art from Africa and its diaspora: galleries and a central atrium were cut out of its 42 concrete tubes, and glass caps on the shafts bring light down into a cathedral-like interior. The Hive, Nanyang Technological University (2015), in Singapore, replaces corridors and rectangular rooms with twelve tapering towers of rounded tutorial rooms around a central atrium, to bring students and staff together across subjects. 1000 Trees in Shanghai (2021), whose first phase opened that year, shapes offices, shops and galleries into two planted, mountain-like peaks that slope down to a park along Suzhou Creek.
