King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh (1983), opened by King Fahd that November, has four passenger terminals and, as the dominant building of the complex, a mosque for 5,000 worshippers inside and 4,000 more on its plaza. For the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) campus (2009) at Thuwal, HOK drew the master plan, with wind towers and solar panels; it was Saudi Arabia's first LEED-certified project and is the world's largest LEED Platinum campus.
